Conclusions:

Overall, this is a great enclosure. The small details of design have been thought out quite well, and everything comes together to form one very nice package. The enclosure itself is very attractive and the hard drive indicator light is easily visible. The hard drive tray is setup to be compatible with a wide range of hard drives, and the cooling fan is a welcome addition. The enclosure offers transfer speeds comparable to that of other USB2.0 devices, and is able to access multiple files simultaneously without problems. As far as I'm concerned, the only things that could be improved on this enclosure would be the addition of rubber pads on one side (to allow the enclosure to be more stable when vertical), and lengthening of the power adapter cord.

I give the Venus DS3 enclosure a 4.5 of 5 points because it looks great, is very easy to setup, has good compatibility, and performs well even under very demanding jobs (like the multiple simultaneous media test).
