The ABIT Siluro GF4 Ti4200-8X OTES will be compated against a PNY GeForce 4 Ti 4600 & VisionTek GeForce 3. If you would like to see how a GF4 Ti 4600 does against a Radeon 9700 Pro, you can check out our ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Video Card Review. Please note that the test system in this review is different from the one in the Radeon review, so you can't directly compare numbers.

Tests Used:

  • 3DMark 2001 SE
  • Quake 3 Arena w/ Q3Bench
  • Code Creatures
  • Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo w / HardOCP's Benchmark Scripts

3DMark 2001 needs to explanation, it is one of the de-facto video benchmarking tools. HardOCP was kind enough to publish an article with scripts that run UT2k3's flyby at three different settings. The bot match is excluded from the tests because of the possibility that results won't be accurate. Q3Bench is a nifty program that automates testing Q3A, and includes a custom map to bench with. Code Creatures is a really heavy graphics engine which stresses video cards to the max.

3D Mark 2001 SE:

The default 3DMarks score (that most people compare against) are1024x768 with no Anti-Aliasing (AA) and no Anisotropic Filtering (AF), I also included 1280x1024 & 1600x1200 because some people like the higher resolutions too.
