Unreal Tournament 2003:

Unreal Tournament 2003 is one of the newer games out and it has some good graphics and is the latest in gaming engines. Thanks to HardOCP for posting a script (for the demo version) in an attempt to standardize testing for people running this as a benchmark. The numbers below were just too much to make into graphs, however you should be able to compare them pretty easily as everything is grouped together pretty logically.

Overclocking:

The ABIT Siluro GF4 Ti4200-8X OTES comes at a stock speed of 250 MHz Core & 500 MHz (DDR) Memory. I was able to overclock this card to a maximum of 300 MHz Core & 580 MHz Memory without any artifacting, which is about the average I have seen for this particular card. Any higher on the core and there would be long pauses in 3dMarks, and if I upped the memory I would get artifacting.

Conclusion:

The ABIT Siluro GF4 Ti4200-8X OTES is an excellent card for the average gamer who wants high performance but doesn't want to break the bank. Coming in at under $200 I would consider this a reasonably priced video card for the performance & overclockability. However with the imminent release of the GeForce FX, prices are sure to drop on the Ti4x00 line when the FX is released.

ABIT's OTES solution is certainly quite unique and highly functional. While the noise level is a little more than traditional cards, it's not enough to really be considered annoying. The use of the adjacent card slot to fit the air duct and such, while doesn't bother me, may shy away some people from buying this card. On my IT7 there is no PCI slot next to the AGP slot, so it was dead space to begin with, so the OTES card worked out nicely. Many people who end up putting aftermarket cooling on their video cards loose the adjacent PCI slot too.

A big thanks to ABIT for sending this card to review!

Pros:
  Excellent Cost / Performance Ratio
  NVIDIA's Unified Driver Architecture
  OTES Solution Provides Better Cooling
  Linux Support
  Lots Of Bundled Software
  All Cables & Dongle Included
  8X AGP Support

Cons:
  Fan is louder than most
  OTES uses adjacent card slot
