All tests our run using our 3.0C retail processor with Hyperthreading enabled. We use two sticks of Kingston HyperX PC3500 memory putting our system in a dual channel configuration. The memory timings are set to 2-6-2-2 for all the video cards we test and the only option that we change in the BIOS is disabling the sounds because sometimes it has a tendency to color up the scores and not show the true performance of the video card.

Also, as we stated earlier, this is the only 5200 Ultra we have in our facilities. So the other cards we use to compare are only for reference point and we are certainly not saying that the 9700 is the 5200 Ultra's competitor so please just bear with us. Even though we might not have every card on the market we think you can still get a good idea of where this card is at on the performance scale. The only tests that we did not run that we normally would are the Antialiasing tests and the Anisotropic. The reason for this being is that we don't think that you would ever want to run the quality settings with this video card. It simply cannot handle today's games with the AA and AF turned on. Some of the tests even with stock settings were a little painful to watch.
