Introduction:
When people think of PNY, the first thing that usually comes to mind is
"memory", which was their only original product. However PNY has
expanded their product line to include other items such as CD Media, Compact
Flash, Smart Media, and most notably, Video Cards. This review is on PNY's Verto
GeForce 4 Ti 4600 video card which is their current top of the line consumer
graphics card. With the release of the Radeon 9700 Pro, the Ti 4600 is no longer
the fastest video card on the market, which has led to a noticeable price drop.
For about half the cost of a Radeon 9700 Pro, consumers still get an extremely
fast video card that is up to the task of handing today's high-end video games.
The video card itself is the standard reference design with the usual VGA,
S-Video, and DVI outputs. Notice there are no RAMsinks on this card, even
without them them memory was able to overclock quite nicely (discussed later in
the review), the GPU HSF was the reference model, however it did have a PNY
sticker on the fan. :)
