3DMarks was run at default settings, which are 1024x768 with no Anti-Aliasing (AA) and no Anisotropic Filtering (AF). After running 3DMarks, you can clearly see that the 9700 is out performing the GeForce 4. Scoring around 1,400 points more is a huge increase for those of you not familiar with this benchmark. Then from the stock Radeon to the overclocked score, you can see another big difference. So overclocking the 9700 so far gives quite a performance boost.

I ran Unreal Tournament 2003's benchmark demo. It gives two scores, one for flyby, which is just movement through the maps with no characters, and then the bot match, which is like viewing an actual match from third person perspective. I ran tests with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering turned off. Then I set AA to 4x and AF to 8x cause that is the highest the GeForce would let me go. The Radeon could have gone higher but I wanted to keep everything the same for comparison purposes. I ran all these tests at resolutions, 1024x768 and 1600x1200. Some people don't like the bot match numbers because if a card is noticeably slower the match can run differently and thus the numbers become invalid. However they seemed inline with the flyby numbers as you can see in the graph below.

It is very clear in the graphs above that the Radeon is faster than the GeForce with no AA or AF. Then when I turned on AA and AF the Radeon really shines as it completely blows away the GeForce 4. Then as the resolution gets higher, the Radeon once again really starts to get a bigger lead on the GeForce. Notice how much having the overclocked card helped in the higher resolutions wth AA and AF turned on. Also, note that Radeon's score is still higher than the GeForce when the AA/AF is turned off on the GeForce but is left on on the Radeon at the same resolutions.
