Overclocking the 9800 Pro Ultimate:

Overclocking the 9800 Pro Ultimate was very simple using the Redline overclocking utility. We overclocked this card just like any other we review. First we start off overclocking the core in small increments and checking for stability. Then we start overclocking the memory the same way as the core until we max out the card. Then we overclock both simultaneously to ensure that the card is 100% stable.

The maximum stable clock speed we were able to obtain was 432MHz on the core and 358 MHz on the memory. At this speed the card did perform much better when compared to the stock clocks of 380/340. Keep in mind that our testing system is not in a case and there is no air flowing over the card. We suspect that when air is blowing on the heatsink that it will allow for better overclocking results. Overclocking results will vary due to ambient temperatures, case temperatures, and basically just how good a piece of silicon you receive. Overall, we are impressed with the overclocking ability considering that this card had no fan and is completely silent.
