Thermaltake GeForce 4 Highest Performance Cooler

Product:
GeForce 4 GPU Cooler & RAMsinks

Introduction:

Thermaltake has been making various cooling solutions for computers for some time, mainly providing CPU coolers. Recently Thermaltake has diversified into other areas as well to provide cooling for all PC components such as hard-drives, cases, and chipsets. With the release of the GeForce 4 by NVIDIA, Thermaltake has again came to the rescue and released another cooler. It is called the "Thermaltake GeForce 4 Highest Performance Cooler". This is their solution to the high heat produced by today's graphics cards which can shorten the life of your card and limit overclocking abilities.

The Cooling Kit:

The kit comes in a neat plastic container, which holds the cooler, 4 RAMsinks, thermal tape, a 3 to 4 pin Molex adapter, and thermal paste. The actual cooler itself is made from pure copper. It has little pins that are supposed to help dissipate the heat better and allow the air to flow in a non-directional manner. The single sleeve 50x50x10mm fan rotates at 5500 rpm, and can move 10.6 CFM of air and has a rated 50,000 hours of use.

Swapping Coolers:

Since this review is mainly based on the performance of the aftermarket cooler, that is all I installed on the card. First I had to remove the stock cooler from my PNY GeForce 4 TI 4600. Then I had to clean the GPU thoroughly with rubbing alcohol.
