Installation (cont):

Installing the RAM sinks was very easy. Thermaltake provides some double-sided thermal tape to apply to the bottom of the RAM sink. Just stick the tape on the bottom and then attack the whole thing onto the memory modules. The bigger RAM sinks were put on the top four memory modules and the thinner ones were used on the bottom.

Next just plug in the card into the AGP slot and all the proper power connections and it was time to turn on the computer. This install was very easy and took about 15 minutes for the whole kit to be installed.

Cosmetics and Conclusion:

After powering on the system the light power on and it was brighter than what was expected. One of the issues I was concerned with was the fact that the card would be turned up side down when in a computer and the light might not be seen very well but the light is very bright so it will not go unnoticed. It is not too bright though. The blue LED gives a very “cool” effect and is great for those with window mods who like to show off the innards of their system. Everything looked good in general. I think people get a kick out of just having mods like these on all their parts since they look great and perform well. The fan is quiet so there are no noise issues.

In conclusion, the kit works well and it looks good too. The only other methods of cooling that could be better than this would be getting a water cooling kit like the MCW40 by Swiftech or going beyond that, which may be overkill for some users.
